We're Gonna Have Some Fun!

Harold “Dad” Jackson is a passionate storyteller, musician, and retired educator dedicated to sparking joy and imagination in young hearts. With a vibrant blend of catchy melodies, playful lyrics, and heartfelt messages, his debut children’s CD Matt & Dad Sing! We’re Gonna Have Some Fun! invites kids and families to dance, sing, and learn together. Harold first began writing songs for his son Matthew and performing them at his school, where they were so well received that he continued creating music to help children learn fundamental concepts—like self-esteem (I’m Special), the days of the week, the months of the year, and counting (Count It Out!). Each song is designed to make learning fun while giving parents a nostalgic reminder of the power of music in education.

 

Today, Harold serves as the MAPS (Music, Art & PE) teacher at Truman W. Smith Children’s Care Center in Gladewater, Texas, where he continues to inspire students through creativity and music.

Matthew “Matt” Jackson is the musical genius behind the Matt & Dad sound. A natural-born talent, Matthew began teaching himself piano, guitar, and drums at just three years old. By the age of 12, he co-produced the debut album alongside his father and played every instrument featured on the record. Together, Harold and Matthew bring a joyful, multigenerational energy to music that uplifts, educates, and connects families.
